Class reunions

The class reunion is included in the celebrations of the Assumption and represents the end of the festival. The reunion involves all the classes of the town from 19 years upwards. The start of the reunion party is in piazza Mandulera where the oldest class is greeted, the party then spreads out into the restaurants in Vernante and then into the streets of the town where traditional songs and dances (see curente e balet) take place all afternoon and evening. This party has always represented a moment of sharing among the people of Vernante. What is characteristic of the class reunion party of Vernante is that it is always celebrated on the 16th of August. Since this is a laical festival, this type of recurrence in the other towns of the Cuneo area rarely has a fixed date as in Vernante.
